There are various congenital deformities of the breast which are often so embarrassing that young girls and women have considerable psychological problems with them. These deformities include tubular breast deformity, asymmetries of all kinds, the cobbler's chest and the Poland syndrome. In case of such deformities, a correction is sometimes possible by simply matching up with implants, lifting or reduction of one breast. In case of tubular deformities, a reconstruction of the shape of the breast by lifting combined with an implant is mostl often the best solution. Whether or not the costs may be carried by the public health insurance scheme, always varies from case to case and should be discussed with the patient's own insurance scheme.
