Sculptra®
The natural way of wrinkle treatment

What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® is a polylactic acid biostimulator that stimulates the body's own collagen production in the deep layers of the skin and is primarily used to treat wrinkles and plump up facial areas. The active ingredient smoothes facial wrinkles and improves contours when these are no longer so clearly defined due to age. By injecting into different skin layers, the skin's own collagen formation is stimulated, the skin regenerates itself and is padded in a natural way. For several years, the gentle and long-lasting Sculptra® application has enjoyed increasing popularity, as wrinkle treatment restores the face to its youthful freshness. Sculptra® works exclusively through the body's own collagen build-up, without wrinkles being artificially filled with fillers - a big difference to hyaluron fillers.

Who is Sculptra® suitable for?

Sculptra® are generally very well tolerated. In the preliminary discussion, we always ask about known allergies to rule out that you are allergic to one of the ingredients. And of course, uncomplicated treatment requires a healthy immune system and intact skin that is free of inflammation and infection.

How does a Sculptra® treatment work?

In a consultation, we will inquire about your wishes and then define an individual treatment plan together with you. The Sculptra® treatment can include a different number of sessions depending on the desired result. If desired, the facial skin can be superficially prepared with an anesthetic ointment before we carefully and precisely inject Sculptra into the desired skin layers. The treatments only last a few minutes and take place on an outpatient basis. You can leave our clinic immediately after the treatment and return to everyday life. Collagen production is activated after the injection, gradually increased and leads to a long-lasting build-up of connective tissue. The final result can be assessed after about two to three months. The result of a Sculptra® treatment lasts on average about 1-2 years - depending on the number of injections made. A refresher course is of course possible at any time if desired.

How exactly does Sculptra® work?

Sculptra® is injected deep into the dermis or into the uppermost layer of the subcutaneous tissue (upper subcutis). In the first phase, the poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra®) causes an immediate filling of the volume defects and wrinkles due to the water contained in the solution. Within a few days, the water in the Sculptra® solution will be reabsorbed by the body and the filling effect will decrease again. Then the second phase of Sculptra®'s mechanism of action begins - the stimulation of the body's own collagen production for the natural, long-lasting build-up of connective tissue.

Sculptra® or Hyaluron-Filler: what's the difference?

In contrast to conventional hyaluronic fillers, Sculptra® has the advantage that it not only fills up the volume of the skin, but also stimulates the body's own collagen production. As a result, the volume increase of a Sculptra® treatment can last for several years, while the result is a Injection with hyaluronic acid only lasts about 4-6 months.

Which wrinkles can be injected with Sculptra®?

Due to its special properties, Sculptra® is particularly suitable for treating deep wrinkles and skin tightening. Especially wrinkles on the chin, nasolabial folds, sunken temples, marionette lines and sagging cheeks can be treated excellently with Sculptra®. The contouring of the jawline is also possible with Sculptra®. A pure Sculptra® treatment is not recommended for expression lines such as forehead wrinkles or crow's feet. Here we recommend one Botox® wrinkle treatment. The same goes for the lip injections, in our clinic we use high-quality hyaluronic acid.

The costs for a Sculptra® injection are from €750,00 / injection.

A Sculptra® treatment usually runs without any problems. There are no major side effects known with Sculptra®. After the treatment, slight swelling and bruising may occur at the puncture (injection) sites. These usually go away within the next few days.

The Sculptra® treatment is a minimally invasive procedure that uses well-tolerated dermal fillers. The synthetically produced polylactic acid is based on the body's own lactic acid. Allergic reactions are therefore not to be expected. Treatment with Sculptra® is not possible if you suffer from acute skin diseases. The treated area should be free of injury, inflammation and infection. Even if there is a known tendency to increased scarring or keloid formation, treatment with Sculptra® is not permitted.

The effect of a Die Sculptra® treatment lasts approx. 1 - 2 years - depending on the refresher cycle

Deep wrinkles can be treated with Sculptra® – wrinkles on the chin, nasolabial folds, sunken temples, marionette lines, etc. Lips can be injected with hyaluronic acid and expression lines can be treated.
