PRP microneedling combines two proven procedures in aesthetic medicine: mechanical stimulation of the skin with fine needles (microneedling) and the regenerative effects of PRP (platelet-rich plasma), extracted from your own blood. At our clinic in Berlin, we offer this treatment for lasting skin rejuvenation, structural improvement, and scar reduction – safe, minimally invasive, and completely without foreign substances.

What is PRP microneedling?

PRP stands for "platelet-rich plasma." It contains highly concentrated endogenous growth factors that activate cell regeneration and tissue repair. During PRP microneedling, this plasma is injected directly after controlled microstimulation of the skin (needling).

The combination enhances the effect of both procedures:

  • Microneedling creates micro-injuries and stimulates collagen and elastin production.

  • PRP accelerates healing, improves cell activity and intensifies skin renewal from within.

Who is the treatment suitable for?

PRP microneedling is ideal for:

  • fine wrinkles and tired skin

  • Acne or surgical scars

  • irregular skin texture or large pores

  • first signs of aging

  • pale, poorly circulated skin (“glow booster”)

  • Loss of elasticity on the face, neck or décolleté

The treatment is suitable for almost all skin types and is also compatible with sensitive skin – as only the body’s own substances are used.

Course of treatment

  1. Blood sampling & centrifugation: A small amount of blood is taken and processed in a special centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma.

  2. Skin preparation: Cleaning and, if necessary, local anesthesia with cream.

  3. Microneedling: The skin is micro-perforated with an electric dermapen.

  4. Injecting PRP: The plasma is applied immediately afterwards and penetrates deep into the skin.

  5. Final care: A cooling mask soothes the skin.

Duration of treatment: about 60-75 minutes
Suggestion: 3–4 sessions at intervals of 4–6 weeks for a lasting result

Aftercare & Behavior

  • no cosmetics or make-up for 24 hours

  • Avoid intense sun, solarium, sports or sauna for 2-3 days

  • daily UV protection (SPF 50) for at least 1 week

  • no peelings or irritating ingredients for the first 5–7 days

  • Drink plenty of fluids, gentle care and moisture support regeneration

Possible side effects

PRP microneedling is considered to be very well tolerated. Possible, mostly harmless, reactions include:

  • slight redness, swelling or tightness

  • pinpoint bleeding or small bruises

  • very rare infections or hypersensitivity reactions

In our clinic, the treatment is carried out under sterile conditions and medical supervision – for maximum safety.

Results & Impact

After just a few days, the skin appears fresher and smoother, and the complexion more even. After 4–6 weeks, significant improvements in skin texture, elasticity, and firmness are visible. PRP microneedling is also suitable for preventing skin aging and can be refreshed regularly.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about PRP microneedling

With PRP microneedling, the skin is first stimulated with fine needles (microneedling). Then, prepared autologous plasma (PRP) is applied to intensively promote regeneration and collagen formation.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is concentrated blood plasma extracted from a small blood sample and centrifuged. It contains growth factors that promote cell regeneration.

Combining it with PRP intensifies the regeneration process. The skin heals faster, becomes firmer, smoother, and takes on a healthier appearance.

  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars and surgical scars
  • pale, poorly circulated skin
  • Loss of elasticity on the face, neck or décolleté
  • large pores and irregular skin texture
A session lasts approximately 60–75 minutes including blood sampling, microneedling and PRP application

For visible and long-lasting results, we recommend 3-4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

This depends on the length of the needles used. The deeper the PRP is injected, the more effective it is, and the longer the downtime. This can be as short as 2 days or as long as 7-10 days.

A topical anesthetic cream makes the procedure well-tolerated. A slight sensation of warmth or tightness may occur.

Not recommended for:

  • acute skin infections or inflammations
  • blood thinning medication
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • pregnancy and breast feeding period
