As we age, the skin loses elasticity, firmness, and volume. Fine and deep wrinkles appear, and facial contours look less defined. For anyone who desires a subtle yet lasting regeneration of their facial features, offers Sculptra® an innovative solution: Instead of just filling the skin, Sculptra® specifically stimulates body's own collagen production – for a naturally fresh look with a long-lasting effect.

In our clinic in Berlin, we use Sculptra® for gentle and deep-acting biostimulation – tailored individually.

What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® is an injectable biostimulator based on Poly-L-lactic acid, a well-tolerated active ingredient that has been used in medicine for many years. After the injection, Sculptra® stimulates collagen-producing cells stimulates the skin to build new connective tissue. The result is a natural tightening and volume restoration – without the immediately visible effects of classic fillers.

Unlike hyaluronic acid, which binds water and directly plumps up the tissue, Sculptra® relies on a long-term, regenerative effect from inside the skin.

How does Sculptra® work?

The effect occurs in two phases:

  1. Instant effect: Immediately after the injection, an initial filling effect is visible; however, this is due to the water contained in the solution—this effect subsides after a few days.

  2. Long-term effect: In the following weeks, the actual mechanism of action begins – the Stimulation of the body's own collagen production. This biological process leads to a sustainable volume building over a period of 8–12 weeks.

How long do the results last?

The treatment result develops over several weeks and usually lasts 1 to 2 years – significantly longer than with classic fillers. Touch-up treatments are possible according to individual needs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Sculptra®

Sculptra® is an injectable biostimulator made of Poly-L-lactic acid exists. After the treatment, it stimulates the body's own collagen production and strengthens the connective tissue in the long term – for natural wrinkle reduction and volume replenishment.

Typically 2–3 treatments at intervals of 3–4 weeks. The exact number depends on the individual initial condition and the desired result. We will discuss the specific plan during the initial consultation.

Initial visible improvements usually appear after 4–6 weeks. The full effect often unfolds only after 2–3 months, when collagen production reaches its peak. The result therefore looks particularly natural – it appears gradually, not suddenly.

Sculptra® is particularly suitable for deep wrinkles and sagging facial areas, such as:

  • Nasolabial and marionette lines

  • Cheek and chin volume

  • sunken temples

  • jawline
Frown lines or anger lines are better treated with botulinum toxin.

After the treatment, you should gently massage the injected area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 consecutive days. This aftercare is crucial to ensure that Sculptra® is distributed evenly and no nodules form. We will explain the technique to you in detail on-site.

Sculptra® is very well tolerated. Potential temporary reactions include slight swelling, redness, tenderness, and minor bruising at the injection site. Very rarely, small nodules can form if insufficient massage is performed—which can be reliably avoided by following the 5-5-5 rule. When administered by an experienced specialist with proper aftercare, serious complications are extremely rare.

As a rule, you are Immediately fit for public appearance again after the session. Mild swelling or small hematomas usually subside within 1–2 days.

The effects usually last 12 to 24 months – depending on individual metabolism, lifestyle, and desired result.

Hyaluronic acid fills volume directly and immediately – the effect is visible right away. Sculptra® stimulates the body's own collagen production – the effect is delayed, but more natural and longer-lasting. Both methods complement each other ideally.

Suitable if you:

  • to have a healthy immune system

  • no active skin inflammation or herpes

  • are not pregnant or breastfeeding

  • no autoimmune diseases or blood clotting disorders are present

Yes – Sculptra® can be very well combined with botulinum toxin (for expression lines), hyaluronic acid (for targeted volume corrections), or Morpheus8 (radiofrequency microneedling). In my clinic, we frequently create customized treatment plans that sensibly combine several methods.

Costs start at 750 euros per treatment. Since 2–3 sessions are usually recommended, you should expect a total budget of 1,500–2,000 euros for a complete treatment protocol. We will discuss the specific costs during the consultation.
